Bangladesh is home to at least 37 known species of amphibians, and they are disappearing for reasons that are entirely within our power to change: habitat destruction, pesticides and insecticides, hunting, and the spread of betel leaf plantation and jhum cultivation into the wetlands and forests where frogs breed.

SAVE THE FROGS! Bangladesh was founded in 2011 by Nurul Islam as the first Asian branch of SAVE THE FROGS!, and it has been raising awareness of amphibian issues consistently ever since — in Dhaka, in Sylhet, in Godagari, and across the wider South Asia region.

Your donation funds that work directly. It pays for the free monthly South Asia Meetups that connect amphibian enthusiasts, students and researchers across the region; for grants that put education and outreach activities into schools and communities; for travel grants so conservationists from Bangladesh can attend summits and conferences they would otherwise miss; and for scholarships for the young scientists who will lead this work next.

This is not a large or expensive operation, and that is precisely why donations go so far here. A modest amount of money, spent by people who live in the places they are protecting, goes a long way for the amphibians in Bangladesh.
